Seriously though about time they did something about this. Just spend another 30 seconds degening them through rad field.

They're not fleshy, Rad field will give you a total of 6 degen for 5 seconds (60 hp) every 14s, not very effective :P

You know - thinking now that anets made poor budger almost redundant maybe they shud "Fix" vaetires.I could be wrong but i cant really think of any foes in gw who are so imba.
They have high ( probably the highest out of all foes ) armor against elemental damage - most foes have a slight weakness which is fair but did they forget this with vaetires.

it was already answered, but just to confirm, yes The Captured Son, Just make sure to abandon quest and not take reward, or else you're done, oh and some people sell the letters for 500g-1k, i don't bother , i just drop them, but i guess you could if you wanted.

I've kegged, 600'd, obsi ele'd, 55'd, raptors, everything, I definitely think the best way of getting holiday items is this quest, as there is just so many enemies in a very small area.

honestly on NM, not too many, in HM, the same if not more than the vaettirs, and from my experiences, LOTS of dye drops, i've gotten more black and white dye here than anywhere else in my 30+ months of playing.

oh i get many low req items here too, recently just got q7-8 max tower shields, and a q7 max sword, bad skins..... but just thought i should mention since some people are interested in that.

what would work better?
a 105 rit, 330rit, or 600rit?

Hello there. You've really piqued my interest here, so I dusted off my 600 Monk and took a trip back to the Lagoon. I had never even considered this quest for farming, so thank you for for the suggestion. After a few ...learning experiences relearning who carried Diversion and Gaze of Contempt, I finally made it up to the Crimson Skull, and so I have a few questions for you regarding the run.

I can weather the oh-so-annoying Wanderlust knockdowns, but I end up with a knot of Priests and Healers spamming Healing Burst in series that I just cannot kill. Is the VwK lifestealing just enough to kill them off? If so, this may be the impetus I need to start that Ritualist I've been eying.

Being new to the run I still have a great deal to learn about the run itself, but I was wondering about your times. In hard mode, I've had to bond up, clear 2-3 small Crimson Skull groups, a mob of Dragon Lillies (damn mesmers!) and usually on Oni or two before I reach the Crimson Skull camp. I have no doubts that I'm not using the optimal run path, but how are you achieving those times?

totally sucks that my rit can't get this quest as she did it way back when factions first came out. Sin's can't really farm these solo due to the signet damage.

Yes to both. It doesn't matter that a foreign character can get there; you can't take that quest unless you started a character in Factions. You may join the party of someone with the quest to activate the enemy spawn from the quest.

And, yes, screen shot on the (recent)req. 7 max or it didn't happen.

Step 1) Create a Warrior
Step 2) Search the Farming Forum for Warrior Raptor Cave Farm
Step 3) Do Raptor runs that take less than 1 minute each
Step 4) Collect Event Drops, Gold Items, and Dye and forget Keg-farming existed (sort of like you did when Ursan got grand-slammed by the nerf-bat)

If you had used the Search Function, you wouldn't need to ask. If you don't follow the steps in the proper order and follow their instructions, you won't reap a desirable outcome.

This Captured Son -Farm sounds interresting to me.
But my problem ist, that only my Mes, Sin and my Ranger can do this quest, as i already finished it with all other chars.
Tested it with perma sin but they killed me with signets (even in NM).
Anyone got any ideas how to do this with a Mes, sin or Ranger?
Maybe Echoed VwK on the mes? or 105hp mes with VoR? (cant test it, as my mes isnt on noob island yet.)

Also i was wonderinge, how u can run all the way to the mob and kill them in 2-3mins (it took me almost 2mins just to run there and i have no clue how to get there on HM with a not perma char).

Please give me some tips if u can, as raptor farming is not worth it for me since my computer needs 40+ secounds to load into rata sum on event weekends.

Read up on what happened to budger - kegs now have a time limit on being taken rather than as needed .
So basically no - you can try but its gonna take ages just to kill a few vaetires now.
There are other ways for sin to farm vaetires but alas non are as efficient as kegs were.

how do I prevent vaettirs from scattering?
I know the "your right side will face the wall, take a small step to left" tactic (I have used A/Me to farm UW and many other places) but vaettirs scatter anyway

is it because I found myself a wall that doesnt work
the thing is some vaettirs simply run back (and yes Im %100 sure my right was facing the wall

The important part is not your right side facing the wall but the veattirs left side facing it.
Also all veattirs need to be in melee range before you pull them to the wall so they stand very close to it.
Dont use AoE skills like Lava Font, Flame Storm and so on (or if you use them do it with less than 25% of your maximum health) - Degeneration skills and skills like Cry are ok if you dont spam them to much.
And if you pull them to far they will break agro anyway so find yourself a wall near the mob.
